I recently saw "Gerry Connolly for Congress" posters in Fairfax County. I would like to thank Mr. Connolly for several things:
(1) Thank you for making me aware of the election: I had forgotten about Rep. Tom Davis retiring.
(2) Thank you for leading the effort a few weeks ago to raise my property taxes during this time of economic downturn
(3) Thank you for your long history in Fairfax County of supporting "tax and spend" propositions and leading most of them
(4) Thank you for continously forgetting about the common person with fixed incomes throughout your tenure as a public servant
(5) Thank you for jogging my memory, and making me remember the old saying "with friends like you, who needs enemies"
Just one more favor, Mr. Connolly. Can you tell me who is running against you (I really don't know) so I can make a generous donation to their campain and give them an opportunity to serve the public as well as you have in the past?
