Dominion wins football opener

The Dominion Titans displayed a powerful running game and a stifling defense in defeating host Washington-Lee, 27-7 in varsity football action on Aug. 30.

Deandre Reaves rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns as the Titans built a 27-0 lead before the Group AAA Generals returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown to break up the Titans' shutout bid.

Dominion limited the hosts to three first downs and 27 yards of total offense in the game. Titan kicker Tommy Kowalick connected on field goals of 28 and 30 yards and finished with nine points. Todd Lancaster returned an interception 25 yards for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter.
