A loss becomes a win for Potomac Falls?

A story by Rick Kozlowski in The Journal reports that Martinsburg High School has been forced to forfeit its first two football victories of the season -- the second coming against Potomac Falls on Aug. 31 -- for using an academically ineligible player in both games.

We have not yet been able to confirm with the Potomac Falls athletic office if the Panthers will indeed go from 0-1 to 1-0 on the season. Loudoun Times-Mirror sports reporter Nicole Buckholz will be at the Panthers’ home game versus Hedgesville tonight and will check into the situation.

The Journal is based in Martinsburg, W. Va. Here’s a link to the story.
