Heritage gets back on track

One week after scoring just seven points in a home loss to South Lakes, the Heritage Pride lit up the scoreboard for 23 points in the second quarter of Friday’s game and turned that into a 26-20 victory over host North Hagerstown.

Junior quarterback Zack Gordon – who missed the South Lakes game with an injury – paid big dividends in his return, tossing three touchdown passes.

Ross Madison returned to his normal running back role after playing quarterback for the Pride (1-1) in week one. Madison rushed for 79 yards and also caught a 23-yard touchdown pass. The elusive Madison chalked up 81 yards on two kickoff returns as well.

Nick Cadwell added 53 rushing yards on 16 carries, and also made nine tackles defensively. Russell East led the way with 12 tackles.
