Child abuse reported in Kingstowne

Police are looking for witnesses to a reported case of child abuse inside the Noodles and Company restaurant in Kingstowne Town Center on the early evening of Friday, June 27.

A patron alerted employees after seeing a mother allegedly strike her 4-year-old son. Police were then called after the 34-year-old woman began to allegedly shout at the child.

Police said the child was released to the custody of other family members after “discovering numerous bruises” on the child's body.

The suspect has not been arrested, police said. She is described as approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 350 pounds with long, brown hair and wearing a T-shirt and blue stretch pants.
