Fair Oaks opens 13 new stores

In an effort to improve the quality of their tenants, Fair Oaks Mall staff is welcoming 13 new stores this year, including an Apple store, an expanded Bailey Banks & Biddle jewelry store and Michael Kors, a luxury sports store.

The mall, situated near the intersection of Route 50 and Interstate 66, is located in a property that is 28 years old, and mall managers are continually trying to make it feel up to date by improving the quality of the tenants there, Chris Poleto, the mall's manager, said.

This is just a step in that direction,” Poleto said.

The mall will have the only Michael Kors in the Washington, D.C. region and one of the largest Forever 21 is currently open, Ferris Kaplan, the mall's marketing director, said.

The Apple store opened their doors earlier in the year to a “mob,” and has been busy ever since, Poleto said.

We try to be true to local consumers by providing the things they need,” Poleto added.

In recent years, the mall has been focused on opening more restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory and Texas de Brazil Steakhouse in response to customer demands. It plans to continue expanding its casual restaurant options in the future, according to Poleto.

Other stores opening at the mall this year include Faces, Swarovski and Fussiwig's Candy Factory.
