NVCA Cruises to Win

Northern Virginia Christian Academy entered Friday night's game against Hearts looking for answers and their second conference win of the season. All season the second year school has struggled to hold leads, play with consistency, and maintain their focus for a full 32 minutes.
On Friday, the Falcons got off to an 8-0 start, held the lead the entire game, and went on to beat Hearts 53-33 in NVIAC play. The Falcons improved to 2-6 in the conference and 2-9 overall.
The 33 points scored by Hearts was the fewest allowed by NVCA all season. For the 8th time in 11 games, sophomore Sam Rattray led the team in scoring, finishing with a game-high 22. Junior point guard Bobak Sharifi added 12 points for NVCA. Hearts narrowed a double-digit first half deficit to 5, closing the lead to 24-19 at the break. The Falcons outscored Hearts 19-6 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. The Falcons prepare next to take on conference opponent Fairfax Christian next Thursday.
