NVCA Closes Season Strong

By coachcuffee

NVCA entered Tuesday nights game against conference leader Trinity Meadow View with the odds stacked against them. Trinity was undefeated in conference play entering the game and atop the NVIAC standings with a 12-0 record; several NVCA players had been bit by the weather bug and were far less than 100%; NVCA had never beaten Trinity in there only three previous meetings; and leading scorer Sam Rattray had fallen into a shooting slump. But like they've done all season long, the team banded together when it mattered most and upset Trinity 67-40 on a night when the school celebrated its seniors (Simon Chu, Christopher Fricke, and Jonathan Fricke). The Falcons finished the regular season at 5-9 in conference play and 7-12 overall. Up next for the Falcons is the NVIAC Tournament which begins next Tuesday at Hoop Magic in Chantilly.
