Obituary

Nicholas Helu Jr.

Died May 5, 2008
 

Nicholas Helu Jr., 84, of Sterling, a general practitioner, died May 5 at the Virginia Nursing Center in Fairfax.

Services are May 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Vienna. Burial will be private.

Dr. Helu was born Jan. 18, 1924, in the Dominion Republic to the late Nicholas Helu Sr. and Ana Helu. He practiced medicine for more than 40 years, mostly at his private practice in Vienna.

He was an avid golfer, card player and bowler. He loved to read, listen to classical music and travel.

His wife, Nelly Helu, preceded him in death.

Survivors include five children, Heilda Helu, Daisy Wyatt, Yolanda Helu, Doris Helu and Sandra Farrington; and a grandson.

Memorials may be sent to the Catholic Charities Archdiocese, 3211 Pine St., NW, Washington, DC 20010.

Arrangements are by Adams-Green Funeral Home of Herndon.
